Cable Assembly

  • Water Proof
  •   Waterproof or resistant cable is built using specific jacket material that operates in a moist environment.  Aside from the jacket material of a water block, waterproof or resistant cable, the use of water blocking tape and/or water blocking fillers must be considered during the design phase.  To ensure the whole cable assembly waterproof, use of waterproof connector with or without additional potting/molding technologies should also be taken into account.

Flame Retardant
  •   Flame retardant cable is not easy to burn in the event of a fire. The fire retardant cable can prevent the burning flame, effectively controlling the spread of the fire and the loss and ensuring personal safety.  Its materials also require low toxin and do not generate corrosive gas.  The choose of connector also requires high temp., low toxin, and flame retardant materials.

Oil Resistant
  •   Cables that are exposed to chemicals, coolants and oils is a frequent occurrence during operations causing the jacket to swell, crack or harden after prolonged exposure to these acidic and caustic chemicals.  To identify the type of oil/chemical and the extent of exposure in the application environment is extremely crucial in choosing the specific material against the chemical.

UV Resistant
  •   For outdoor use, electrical cables are subject to high levels of ultra-violet radiation, as well other atmospheric conditions. In principle, all plastic materials used in the manufacturing extrusion process are susceptible to oxidation. However, different types of plastic possess varying degrees of UV stability.  Choosing the comparatively high resistant material to light and oxygen and  prevent early premature ageing of plastics as a result of photo-oxidation.

Rugged
  •  Ruggedization most often involves replacing commercial insulations and jackets with more robust materials.  The main change from commercial to rugged cable is the insulation and jacket materials, often replacing traditional PVC with more robust alternatives.  Usually by identifying the operating temp., abrasion and flexibility, etc.

High Speed
  • High speed cables are determined by its selection of configuration such as twisted pair, coaxial pair, shielding, and insulation material also affects the dielectric constant & loss factor.  For most of the commercial communication standards are using differential pairs require suitable cable configuration and high speed connectors.
